The annual Flower and Vegetable Show, held on Sept 3rd, was a great success. There were several entries in all the classes and the vegetable section was particularly well supported. Anne Armstrong won the cup for most points in that section with 23 points, closely followed by Bryce Brown and Carol Tucker on 19 points each.

There were many original ideas in the fun and children's classes and thank you Men, for entering the cookery class. A big thank you must also go to Terry Betts for standing in to judge the flower and foliage section at very short notice!

Overall lots of people entered, some in just a few classes but most came away with a prize card of some colour. There was a great atmosphere and friendly competition.

Thank you to Jenny Saunter for presenting the cups. The profit of £120 will go towards her charity FLEET, when she runs in the London Marathon, next year.

So a lot of ‘thank-you’s. Yes the Gardening Club does appreciate everyone’s input to make this show such a success.
